A fine blend of Nature and Literature, that is ‘Poetreegarden’. Poetree Garden is a forum of nature activists as well as people who love literature.
Flower trees and Fruit trees all over the world, is the motto of the forum formed in 2002.
“We plant trees, publish books and conduct discussions on socially relevant eco-literary subjects”, says its founder Dr. P.P. Souhrudan.
Poetree Garden has already published two national anthologies – ‘Native Petals’, a collection 117 poems of authors from all over the country & Twenty Fascinating Stories, by Krishna Kumar, a veteran writer from Maharashtra.
The forthcoming books are “My Beads Unstrung” by Anna Maria and an English version of K.P. Appan’s widely discussed critical text on Sree Narayana Guru.
This eco-literary movement has 120 life members from different strata of society spread over the country. The life membership fee is Rs. 250. They get the poetree books free.
The driving force behind the forum is a 50+ unassuming author of 10 books, Vaangmayi. He won a national award for ‘Antharangam’ and the an international citation for a poem ‘Lightning of Destiny’.
