The golden age of Malayalam film industry flourished with Bhaskaran master in all aspects.Poet,film maker,lyricist,actor and a turbulent freedom fighter .He had shown his excellence in all these fields.

From his youth as a communist revolutionary, through the ages of romantic songs , he could maintain the same enthusiasm.It was he who took Malayalis to the heights of music which was till then alien to them.He used colloquial language in a mesmerising manner giving it a heavenly touch .

His debut was 'Neelakkuyil'-as a director,lyricist and actor. But before that P.Bhaskaran was the spirit of communist activists in Kerala.His poem ' Vayalar Garjikkunnu' in 1946 after the Punnapra-Vayalar uprising,created troubles to the feudalists and oppressors.

The songs Manjani poonilavu..., Kayalarikathu...,Oru pushpam mathram.., Pranasakhi... etc. outlive the master.He received J.C.Daniel award for life time achievement in cinema in 1994, Odakkuzhal award and Kerala sahitya academi award for poetry in 1982 for his collection ' Ottakkampiyulla Thampuru'.

His throne in Malayalam film songs will remain forever with his grace and unparallelled contributions.
